983. William Allen Churchill was born on May 10 1810 in Newington, CT. He died on May 28 1874 in New Britain, CT.
NOTE:He had a common school education, and then became apprentice to William B. North, who was the first Goldsmith and jeweler in New Britain. He afterwards built up a great business in the same line, and this, owing to his genius and fine taste, became one of the finest houses in the country. Elihu Burritt, in his memorial address, said of him; "He founded here in New Britain a normal school of aesthetic culture for beautifying homes with the best artistry of nature." He was of great influence in the community, setting a good example by his beautiful house and grounds, and by his wise citizenship and generous spirit. He devoted himself to the public welfare in many ways, the Centre Church at New Britain being a lasting monument to his loyal service.

He was married to Eliza Jane Francis on Sep 14 1835 in New Britain, CT. Eliza Jane Francis died on Jan 23 1837. William Allen Churchill and Eliza Jane Francis had the following children:
